Tewksbury Education Foundation Founded in 1996, the TEF is a non-profit organization established to raise funds to enhance educational excellence in Tewksbury.

Funds raised through generous private donations and special events are used to support students, teachers and administration.

With multiple uses, different native materials, shapes, sizes, and techniques…did you know that basket weaving is the oldest known craft? With the Hunterdon County Division of Parks & Recreation, 6th graders dove into NJ history, Native Americans, colonial times, and changes leading to modern basketry. They even got to create and bring home their own basket!

Beyond excited to have Jordan Toma present at OTS today! Jordan empowered students to recognize that their struggle is their strength. Through his energy and humor during I’m Just a Kid with an IEP, Jordan shared his own anxiety and challenges in a way that resonated with students. Jordan stressed the importance of confidence and self-worth, the ability to change your path, and that your struggles do not have to define you.

On Friday, 1st graders participated in true hands-on learning with John Miller from Pearl Observatory. Students learned about comets, parts of the moon, held a meteor, and learned about being a “meteor hunter.” They even created moon models with spackle and ice (straight from the TES parking lot). On Tuesday 7th graders found their creative outlets with Zentangle, a method of drawing using patterns. Mimi Topping of Morris Arts led the students in this meditative style of drawing that helps increase focus and decrease stress and tension. Last week 4th graders welcomed author Nicoline Evans. Nicoline read from one of her children’s books and discussed the writing and publishing process, inspiring students to pursue their own creative interests. She then met with students individually to provide guidance and instruction on their own writing pieces!
