Firecracker has been adopted! ๐Ÿ’œ
Oh my, look at this precious kitten!!! This little boy came to The Ark of Hope Rescue the day after 4th of July fireworks. A Good Samaritan found him crying under a lawn mower on July 5th. At that time she hadn't realized that the little boy's mother had been scared off by the fireworks in Cumberland and met her untimely death.... Everyone knows how very special little male orange tabbyies are, (Ginger kitties) he is no different! What a precious, lovable little purr-box! We have named him Firecracker but maybe we should have named him "Chainsaw" because you can hear his "little motor" purring from across the room! He has been to the vets and tested negative for Feline FIV and Leukemia He has received his 1st kitten shot and is going back on Monday, Aug. 24th for his 2nd and possibly his 1-year Rabies shot. But meanwhile he's growing up here at the rescue, where he should be cuddled up in someone loving arms, growing up knowing what a safe and wonderful place a family could be! Could you be his family? Call Dianne at The Ark of Hope Rescue 301-478-3300 for more information.

UPDATE: Baby Pollie could not have the surgery...She is currently only .6 pounds, just over a half of a pound! She most probably wouldn't have made it through the surgery. We are trying to do everything possible to save her tiny little life so waiting just a little longer to get her weight up would give her a better chance of survival. Her left eye looks HORRIBLE but she is eating, drinking her bottle and she LOVES to be held! I will post another picture of her eye from today at the end of the pictures so you don't have to see it unless you go and look! She is on 2 antibiotics as well as other meds. We have another appointment on Tuesday with Dr. Cosgrove and Dr. Hensel to reappraise her health condition, as well as another scheduled surgery date for her eye enucleation. A special THANK YOU to those who could spare a few dollars to help with her medical expenses so far, please know that we appreciate every single dollar donated for Baby Pollie! (Oh, and yes, she is a polydactyl kitten. One of her front feet has 7 toes and the other 8 toes! That just makes her more special!)
If you still want to donate to Baby Pollie's ever growing medical expenses, please read below, there are a few different ways you can help, please know that EVERY dollar is greatly appreciated!!! We can't carry The Ark of Hope Rescue ourselves...It takes a village!
AND PLEASE DON'T FORGET BABY POLLY IN YOUR PRAYERS. SHE IS ONE OF GOD'S VERY SPECIAL CREATIONS!
Facebook friends or family, The Ark of Hope Rescue needs your help. We accepted a 4 week old stray kitten on Monday who was found in very bad shape. We drove her straight to the emergency vets. We were trying to give her tiny body a little more time to strengthen before having to go into surgery but it can no longer wait. Tomorrow morning "Baby Pollie" will be going into surgery at LaVale Vet Hospital to have her left eye removed and to save her life. We are totally out of funds, if you could find $5, $10, $25, any amount, to call in and put on her account it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Their phone number is 301-729-6084, tell them that your donation is for Baby Pollie, with The Ark of Hope Rescue and please message me that you donated so we can share our appreciation! If your bank has "Zelle" you can donate directly to The Ark of Hope Rescue by using this number 301-697-5035 (Zelle will come up as Robert Care). You can also donate using PayPal (ArkofHopeRescue) We try not to ask for help often but this time we have no choice, please help us help Baby Pollie! Sorry these pictures are pretty nasty, we didn't post the really bad ones! We are praying and fighting for Baby Pollie, PLEASE JOIN US AND HELP ๐Ÿ’œ You can also call Dianne for more information 301-478-3300
