We had an incredible two-day hands-on learning experience at RACCA’s Performing A/C Load Calculations workshop! 🎓💡

Participants sharpened their HVAC skills, diving deep into:

✔️ Understanding Manual J
✔️ Which construction codes to use
✔️ The quickest and more accurate way to perform load calculations
✔️ Load preferences (short-cuts)
✔️ Outdoor air requirements
✔️ Understanding load calculation results
✔️ Selecting proper equipment as per code R403.7.1.1 cooling equipment capacity (residential and commercial equipment)
✔️ Residential ductwork design
✔️ Understanding static pressure loss
✔️ Equivalent length fittings selection and duct sizing calculations
✔️ Real software application using Wrightsoft and other tools

✨ A Magical Night to Remember at the 2026 RACCA Awards & Installation Banquet ✨

The 59th Annual Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (RACCA) of Tampa Bay Awards and Installation Banquet, held on January 22, 2026, was truly an evening to remember. Hosted at Banquet Masters in Clearwater, members and guests came together for a night filled with celebration, recognition, and a little bit of magic.

The evening kicked off with a lively cocktail reception that set the tone for what was to come. Following a warm welcome from RACCA President Renee Pagan, guests enjoyed dinner before being treated to an unforgettable performance by Magician and Mentalist Ben Corey. His sharp humor, interactive magic, and jaw-dropping card tricks kept the room buzzing with excitement.

The highlight of the night? A stunning finale where Tyler McWilliams appeared to levitate—leaving the crowd amazed and asking the same question: "How did he do that?!"

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this event such a memorable celebration of our RACCA community. ✨

☀️ We are live with our latest Workshop Series session: Understanding Compressor Failures.

📚 Bob Feathers, HVAC TAC, is guiding our attendees in understanding manufacturing and auditing procedures that go into compressor development and manufacture as well as the five mechanical failure types and what causes them for a better understanding of how true electrical failure can be determined and how to prevent future failure after compressor replacement.

Bob has 40 years of experience in the HVAC industry, including as a corporate trainer for Copeland.
