Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's Post 12186 VFW Day of Service .

Whether you stayed for one hour, six hours, or supported us from afar, your efforts mattered.

This year's Day of Service was highly successful as we are proud to lend a helping hand to our community partners at Oldsmar Cares . By helping to maintain their grounds and buildings, they can focus more on their mission of supporting our local community. We trimmed bushes, spread dozens of bags of fresh mulch, scrubbed the buildings, and cleaned the signage. Additionally, we relined the entire parking lot with traffic paint, created a new ADA-accessible parking space, and expanded the delivery loading zone.

Well done by all. I only have a few photos, so if you have some more, feel free to share and I'll see you at the next meeting!

Team 12186, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to express my gratitude for our Post and Auxiliary members. Your dedication and volunteer work are the foundation of our post, reflecting the true spirit of service.

Thank you for your camaraderie and support for our country, our community, and each other. May your Thanksgiving be filled with fellowship and the knowledge that your service is deeply appreciated.

Post 12186 will be hosting the District 21, Department of Florida, Veterans of Foreign Wars Picnic this weekend. (22 November 2025)

This will be in conjunction with the Bands & Brews on the Bay event hosted by the Upper Tampa Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce
It includes a vendor market, a variety of food trucks, an open-class car show, live bands on stage, and a fireworks display. This event is FREE for families to attend.

D21 Tents will be set up for recruiting and veteran resource assistance, and a second 10'x20' tent will be set up with tables and chairs for all our Post, Auxiliary, and friends to meet up.

This is a full day for us, so come out and enjoy the great weather and a little camaraderie.

2pm - 4pm Chili Cookoff (REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW)
5pm Chili Awards
8pm "ish" Fireworks
