What is a Family Services Plan?

In Colorado, a Family Services Plan (FSP) helps identify the family’s strengths and needs and lays out the objectives, action steps, and services that will guide the case moving forward. Its purpose is to help ensure a child’s needs for safety, permanency, and well-being are being met.

Nick is our Lead CPR Instructor and a CSFPA Board Member at Large.

A few fun facts about Nick:

🩺 He’s a registered nurse
🥜 He eats peanut butter every single day
🎹 He plays the piano
💚 He’s married to our Executive Director, Steffany! Together, they have eight children through foster care, adoption, and birth.

Nick has been a foster parent for six years, and we’re so grateful for the time, experience, and expertise he brings to CSFPA and the families we serve.

CSFPA’s first Kids Night Out was a success 🙌🏽

Earlier this month 28 kids spent their evening getting their energy out at SweetPlay in Greenwood Village while caregivers had a much deserved couple of hours to themselves.

🎂 NEW MEMBER RESOURCE!

CSFPA members can now request a Cake4Kids cake for a child in their care! Email us ([email protected]) to receive the request form.

Cake4Kids provides free, custom birthday and celebration cakes for youth facing difficult circumstances. These cakes could be for adoptions, graduations, birthdays, etc.

As one Cake4Kids recipient shared:

“Thanks for everything — for making us special… for making us happy… for making us feel like… someone cares about us.”

Children and youth in foster care should not have to pay school fees.

Under Colorado law, schools and school districts must waive school fees for students placed in out-of-home care, including fees for:

đź“š Books
🧪 Lab or course fees
âš˝ Participation in extracurricular activities
🌅 Before & After school programs
🏫 General school fees

đź’š Know your rights. Advocate for your kids.
