We had another busy Troop meeting last night. We discussed winter camping and the importance of being prepared. We had some prep contests, went outside to check out the moon, and had some sweet treats. There were a couple ScoutMaster meetings and a nice closing.

This afternoon we celebrated Carson, Ryan, and Logan earning their Eagle rank. Great job to everyone. Takes a lot of time, dedication, and support. These three and their families gave so much to the Troop-Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Treasurer and Committee Chair. We appreciate all the efforts over the years. Congratulations Eagles!

We helped the Lyme Fire Company with their annual Steak Dinner tonight. We poured coffee, cleaned up plates, served food, packaged takeout, and parked cars. Then we enjoyed a delicious dinner before helping pick up all the chairs and tables so the fire trucks could go back in to the garage.

Tonight we had Popcorn awards-those who sold on their own and those who have taken a shift to sell in town. Then a great lesson on leadership and respect. They set up and then took down tents based on listening while being blindfolded. Back inside, worked on advancement. We closed with reminders of our two big events this coming weekend…Lyme Fire Company’s Annual Steak Dinner Saturday evening and an Eagle Court of Honor Sunday afternoon.

Yesterday, Colin completed his Eagle Scout Service Project at Fort Shantok. The Mohegan Tribe was looking to have a long rotted out and removed barrier/retaining wall rebuilt to help with erosion around the Mountain Laurel as well as enhance the beauty of the main entrance. He had a great group of friends and parents who spent a good portion of their Saturday doing manual labor to get this project done. We couldn't be more proud as he enters the home stretch towards his Eagle Rank!
