"An elementary student was placed into emergency foster care two days before school started. His worker could only buy him one new outfit and a pair of shoes, but nothing else. Another student noticed his new shoes and became jealous, throwing paint and ruining them. The boy was heartbroken. When we received shoes from Soles4Souls, he was one of the first students to get a pair. He couldn’t believe the brand new shoes were his. “Are these really for me?!” he repeated over and over, before clutching them to his chest and happy crying."
