Today’s the day for old fort pool to be opened!! Don’t forget we have concessions this year! Hot dogs, nachos, cold sandwiches, candy, plenty of ice cream options, drinks, we even have PRIME we know those kids love prime 😅 y’all go swim today and have some snacks while you’re there. ❤️ -Jill

It's our OPENING DAY at Lindley Field in Old Fort! We will have BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries and nachos will all the fixings and toppings. Drinks, Gatorade, water, coffee, hot chocolate, candy, snacks, and more. No hamburgers available this week as we await our grill. Feed your family at the ball field tonight from 5-7 p.m.

Lindley Park in Old Fort has received lots of love lately from the team at McDowell County Parks and Recreation , and all of the teams scheduled for practice with McDowell County Little League.

Old Fort Youth Activities works in partnership to support this effort from the above entities. Old Fort Youth Activities is a nonprofit organization supporting concessions and park operations with donations from the community, local business and individual sponsorship, many dedicated volunteers, coaches, parents, players and families.

Old Fort Youth Activities was started 30 years ago with the motto “Encouraging Academics with Athletics” and the goal of supporting Old Fort student athletes through concessions, donations of equipment, supporting youth and many other projects. Former President along with , and many others, in partnership with McDowell County Parks and Rec, McDowell County commissioners, and Old Fort Aldermen, throughout the years have continued this service solely relying on donations and support from the community. We are so thankful for the creators of this organization and look forward to continuing supporting the Old Fort community and McDowell County.

Board memebers for the 2022 Spring Season include Randy Tipton, Ginny Rhodes, Bethany Self, Ryan Stevens and Susan Chavez. We have a lot of exciting plans for the upcoming season. However, we are in a transition phase, and need the support of the community to keep the place clean and operational for the McDowell community.

We are currently looking for business sponsors to buy fence space at the Catawba River Ballfields. We are looking for volunteer and paid positions in the concession stands, gates, scorekeepers and announcers. We rely solely on donations from the community along with our county partners.
