On Friday, Carl Sandburg Middle School took a step back in time to celebrate Civil War Day.

Our amazing staff fully immersed themselves in historical garb to give students an authentic, hands-on experience of what life was like during this defining era of American history.

This immersive event was proudly sponsored by the OBEA. A huge thank you to the incredible reenactors who joined us to bring history to life. Students had the unique opportunity to learn about and interact with the tools, medicine, and weaponry used during the time period.

The day culminated in an unforgettable way with the live firing of a cannon.

We are truly going into the end of the school year with a blast!
