On June 14th, we celebrate Flag Day, a time to honor Old Glory and everything she represents—freedom, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of our nation. For members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American flag is more than just fabric and ink; it is a sacred symbol of the country we swore an oath to defend and a constant reminder of the brothers and sisters in arms who made the ultimate sacrifice under its folds. As veterans, we bear a special responsibility to teach younger generations the proper history and respect our flag deserves. Whether it is flown at a local Post, paraded down Main Street, or standing tall over a national cemetery, the stars and stripes remind us that our freedom was bought at a price, and that our duty to honor those who paid it never ends.

Congress is considering legislation that would expand some veterans' programs by changing disability ratings for tinnitus and obstructive sleep apnea.

According to VA estimates, those changes could affect up to 1.5 million veterans and reduce disability compensation by approximately $57 billion over the next 10 years.

Veterans should not pay for veterans' benefits.

Tell Congress to Honor the Contract and protect earned disability compensation.

June 6th remains forever etched into the bedrock of our nation’s history, marking the day when ordinary men accepted an extraordinary, perilous duty on the beaches of Normandy. As members of the VFW, we hold a sacred responsibility to ensure that the courage displayed during Operation Overlord is never diminished by time. The young soldiers, sailors, and airmen who stormed those fortified sands didn't just fight to survive the day; they fought to liberate a continent and defend the very concept of freedom. Many never left those beaches. Today, we salute the legacy of the Greatest Generation, honor the memory of the fallen, and reaffirm our solemn vow to support the veterans who carry the torch of liberty forward.
