A basketball game can start a conversation. A Bible lesson can offer a new perspective. A mentor who keeps showing up can help someone believe their future can be different.

That’s the work of Growth Ministries. We bring encouragement, education, relationships, and the love of Christ to men and women behind prison walls and support them as they prepare for life after release.

From a decade at Lansing Correctional Facility to sitting beside us in church as a free man, meet James. 🕊️

While incarcerated, James felt called to start a Saturday night church service that still thrives today. Growth Ministries had the privilege of mentoring him during his final year and walking alongside him as he transitioned back into society.

Since his release, James has secured housing, purchased a vehicle with his own savings, and is now working toward his CDL! James’ success is a testament to God’s grace and the power of having a "safe bridge" when returning home.

To put that in perspective, many inmates earn as little as $0.25 an hour. This isn’t just a donation; it is a massive sacrifice and a beautiful reminder that God is moving in hearts everywhere.
