☀️ Stay Safe in the Extreme Heat!

With an Extreme Heat Warning in effect, take extra precautions to protect yourself and those around you.

💧 Drink plenty of water — don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
🏠 Stay indoors or in air conditioning as much as possible.
🕶️ Limit outdoor activity, especially during the hottest part of the day.
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and sunscreen.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle — even for a few minutes.
❤️ Check on older adults, neighbors and anyone who may be especially vulnerable to the heat.

Know the signs of heat-related illness, including dizziness, headache, nausea, weakness, confusion, or fainting. If symptoms are severe, seek medical help right away.

Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay safe!

A big shout-out to the Church of the Resurrection volunteers who assembled more than 1,000 dental kits for Health Partnership Clinic this morning!

These kits will be shared with children and adults throughout the community, including students at Title I elementary schools in the Shawnee Mission and Olathe school districts.

Thank you for helping us promote healthy smiles and making a meaningful difference for families in our community!

This morning, we welcomed our friends from AdventHealth Kansas City on-site to capture interviews and B-roll footage highlighting our Dental department.

We’re proud to be a recipient of the LIV Grant, which has helped expand access to dental care for female patients who are heads of household and qualify financially at HPC. We’re grateful for this partnership and the impact it’s making in our community.

We’re excited to be featured in a video at AdventHealth’s upcoming LIV (Living in Vitality) Conference this fall!

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, but recognizing the warning signs of su***de matters every day of the year.

If someone you love is struggling, you may notice changes like withdrawing from friends and family, talking about feeling hopeless or like a burden, or giving away important possessions. These are signs worth taking seriously — and worth talking about.

Behavioral health therapist Amy Povich, MSW, LSCSW, LCSW, walks through the risk factors, warning signs, and five concrete steps you can take if you're worried about someone: Ask, Be There, Help Keep Them Safe, Help Them Connect, and Follow Up.

Amy Povich explains su***de risk factors, warning signs, and how to help—plus crisis resources including the 988 Lifeline.

This morning, HPC hosted its annual Community Open House as part of Community Care Clinic Month at our Olathe clinic. We were pleased to welcome more than 40 guests, including community members, partners, donors, elected officials, public servants, representatives from our local school districts and members of our board.

Guests enjoyed breakfast treats and guided tours to learn more about the services we provide, with a special highlight on the new LEEP equipment in our Women’s Health department. This equipment was generously funded through donations received at our Opening Doors Luncheon. We were especially grateful to have many of those supporters with us today to see firsthand the impact of their generosity.

We also appreciate the elected officials and public servants who took time to join us and learn more about our work, including U.S. Senator Roger Marshall and Kansas State Senator Cindy Holscher. We are grateful for their support of FQHCs and their recognition of the important role community health centers play in our communities.

A warm thank-you to all our guests for being part of this special morning and for the continued support, partnership and generosity that make our work possible. We are grateful to have such a strong community of supporters alongside us.

A shoutout to the many staff members who made today possible and to our patients for their flexibility.
