Today, members of the Olathe Fire Protection District participated in a Shoot-off with the very talented young men and women of the Olathe Archery Team. It went as expected for us, bringing home the golden toilet seat trophy for last place… The real win was spending time with such a great group of athletes. Thank you for hosting us and reminding us why you’re the best—your skill, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm made it a fantastic experience! 🏹 🎯

🚑 Interfacility Transfers (IFTs) Are Part of How We Serve 🚑

Interfacility transfers are another important service provided by the Olathe Fire Protection District. While not every fire or EMS department offers this level of care, our rural location and limited local hospital services mean that some patients need transport to specialty facilities, higher levels of care, or safely back home.

Our crews provide a wide range of mobile medical care to support these transitions. Whether a patient requires Basic Life Support or Advanced Life Support, our teams are always ready to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate transport.

We are proud to serve our amazing community—wherever the road may take us. ❤️🔥

Yesterday our crews took a patient from Saint Mary’s hospital to a facility in Utah. This is part of our transfer program! We take people all over the state and sometimes across state lines if needed. Thank you to the crew that came in to do this transfer!

Last night, the Olathe Fire Protection District and the Olathe Firefighters Association had the honor of presenting one of our own with this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising proceeds.

Each year, our members sell breast cancer awareness shirts and combine those proceeds with donations from our duty shirts to support someone facing the fight of their life. This tradition is rooted in solidarity, compassion, and the belief that no one in our fire family should ever face hardship alone.

Over the past two years, we have been humbled to support two of our own—firefighters and the spouses or mothers of first responders—during their battle with breast cancer. These moments remind us that the fire service is more than a profession; it is a family.

To our recipient: your strength, courage, and resilience inspire every one of us. We stand with you, we support you, and we will continue to fight alongside you—always.

A-Shift got a cliché call for service today! Reporting Party states the cat has been stuck on top of the telephone phone all day and all other efforts were exhausted. Capt. M Patrone answered the call to safely rescue the cat and got it back on flat ground!
