We are honored to have one of our Olathe Leadership Lowrider Bike Club creations on display at the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building as part of the Smithsonian’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

The bike featured in the exhibit is our USA Flag-themed lowrider bicycle, which was designed, built, and assembled by our student leaders in just six days on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., during the Smithsonian Folklife Festival last summer.

This project showcases the creativity, teamwork, and craftsmanship of our student artists.

Our Olathe Leadership Lowrider Bike Club, proudly part of the Olathe Public Schools, presented to students at Briarwood Elementary this morning! Mr. Erazo and Mr. Cantero showed off two student-led projects. Great summer audience of Olathe students!

This is exactly what our Olathe Leadership Lowrider Bike Club is all about—mentorship, creativity, community, and giving young people opportunities to learn and grow. Congratulations to our #3 chapter in Albuquerque!

More than 65 students in Albuquerque, New Mexico, participated in the city's Lowrider Bike Program, marking record enrollment for the youth initiative. What began four years ago with only about 10 students has expanded to include custom bicycles, skateboards, and guitars. Students learn welding, painting, upholstery, woodworking, and design while working alongside mentors from the lowrider community and local law enforcement agencies.

City officials say the program provides young people with valuable skills, positive role models, and creative opportunities that can lead to future careers. The annual graduation showcase highlighted the students' personalized creations and celebrated the continued growth of Albuquerque's unique lowrider culture.

It’s always great to see our chapters making an impact in their communities!

A big thank you to Rev It Up, the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence, and the Lawrence Police Department for partnering with our Lawrence Leadership Lowrider Bike Club chapter to provide local youth with an opportunity to build and keep their own custom bikes while learning valuable life skills along the way.

We’re proud of the work being done in Lawrence and excited to see these students begin their journey. Together, we’re building more than bikes—we’re building futures.

Last night, we celebrated our graduation ceremony, where commencement speaker Mr. Raúl Durán shared these inspiring words:
“Life is like building a lowrider bike. Your frame is your character.”

Our seniors proudly received their Bike Club diplomas and laptops as a departing gift, and we also introduced our new student leadership team for the upcoming year.
