From One Idea to a Movement: The Journey of MinorCare
MinorCare began in 2017 when Mo Azeem gathered a small group of friends to quietly support families in need. What started as simple visits and basic help slowly grew into something far bigger because of Mo’s vision, consistency and heart.
In 2023, Mo opened the first MinorCare Academy in a tiny rented home. A handful of children soon turned into dozens, all receiving homework support, exam preparation and help with school fees.
In September 2024, Mo took the boldest step and launched MinorCare’s first completely free school. The team expected 70 students. Instead, 155 arrived on the first day. Today, the school spans three buildings, serves more than 230 children from Playgroup to Grade 6, and provides uniforms, books, bags, shoes and stationery at no cost.
Under Mo Azeem’s leadership, MinorCare now has over 20 teachers, two academies, a computer lab funded by a USD 5,500 grant from the Plaza Rotary Foundation, and new vocational programs for students and adults.
The biggest achievement has been trust. Parents who once hesitated now proudly send their children every day, because they know Mo and his team are building a future their children never thought possible.
From a small circle of friends to a thriving movement, MinorCare stands as a reflection of Mo Azeem’s belief that when you educate a child, you transform a community.
