A special thanks to the ladies of RUTH #81. I serve as Secretary of the Mississippi Board of Commissioners for the Mississippi Association of Housing Redevelopment Officials. We had our annual planning meeting this week in Ridgeland. ( Approximately 50 individuals from throughout the state) Every year a community service project is chosen. Sunnybrook was the recipient of our project. We were given a list for items for each of the 15 young ladies along with items that could be used in the facility as well. I reached out to Ruth to assist me in obtaining items for the project . They came through!!! The project was a great success. Every year the Mahro Board does an extraordinary job with the project . They send out the instructions throughout the state and everyone does their due diligence . The items filled an entire room! I am so proud to be a part of both organizations. ( OES and MAHRO).
Sunnybrook is a Transitional Living facility for young ladies who have been raised in foster care or are dealing with a broken adoption. The residents are referred by Child Protective Services or are private placements, however all that are admitted must have a desire to be there and a desire to change. The association promotes and provides opportunities to community development and youth of Jackson by making a positive impact on their lives. Thanks again my Sistars!! You are truly appreciated
