Rx for Oklahoma in Hughes Okmulgee McIntosh Muskogee & Okfuskee Counties RX for Oklahoma is a service provided by Deep Fork Community Action, Inc. Johnson. In 1968, DFCA grew to include McIntosh County.

Deep Fork Community Action Foundation, Inc (DFCA) exists today as a direct result of the Federal Economic Development Act of 1964, and is a successful part of the "War on Poverty" initiated by President Lyndon B. The agency was created as a single county program covering Okmulgee County in January 1966. In 1983, Hughes and Okfuskee Counties were merged with DFCA through the direction of the Oklaho

ma Department of Commerce. Hughes, McIntosh, Okfuskee and Okmulgee Counties now form the base service area from which DFCA draws its 24 members for its Board of Directors. DFCA has provided services to the communities we serve as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for 48 years and counting. DFCA is monitored annually by each of the major funding sources that pay for programs operated by DFCA. We are proud to be a community partner networking with other community and civic organizations, local governments and businesses to help meet the needs of our clients.

Are you having troubles getting your medications approved by your insurance? Did you know that there are many reasons why your insurance might not cover your medication, including---
(1) Plan limitations (Your plan may not cover the medication, or it may have limits on the number of refills or quantity)
(2) Prior authorization (Your insurance may require your doctor to get approval before covering a medication that's not on your plan's preferred drug list)
(3) Step therapy (Your plan may require you to try an alternative medication before they'll cover the one your prescribed)
(4) Generic drug (Your plan may only cover generic drugs, or require you to use a generic drug)
(5) Deductible (You may not have met your deductible yet, or your plan may have a separate pharmacy deductible)
(6) Out-of-network provider (Your plan may require you to use certain pharmacies)
(7) Non-covered medication (Your medication may not be on your plan's formulary)
(8) Insurer decision (The insurer may decide that the drug isn't necessary to treat your condition)

But what can you do about it? You could ask the Rx for Oklahoma Prescription Assistance Program for help obtain medications directly from the manufacturer's. Many pharmaceutical companies offer medication at no cost or low-cost to those having difficulty in these situations.
