Safety Day is complete! Thank you to Burton Harmon for teaching the ATV safety course, livestock handling, and even helping the kids practice their public speaking skills. Thank you to Marc Kutz for sharing his expertise on fire safety and giving the youth hands-on experience using a fire extinguisher.

🐄🐑 Oklahoma 4-H State Livestock Skillathon 🐐🐖

We’re excited to host the first State 4-H Livestock Skillathon on Tuesday, July 21, at 1 p.m. at the Payne County Fairgrounds. This contest is designed to provide 4-H’ers the opportunity to develop problem-solving, teamwork and critical thinking skills while demonstrating their knowledge of meat animal production, animal science and livestock management practices.

Class divisions:
• Junior (grades 3-7)
• Senior (grades 8-12)

Participants must be active 4-H’ers to register and compete. 4-H’ers may compete as individuals or in teams of three to four.

The Capes and Clovers Multi-County 4-H Summer Camp was a success! Youth from Okmulgee, Muskogee, Wagoner, and Cherokee Counties enjoyed learning how Dippin’ Dots are made, exploring insects with Dr. Shufran, fishing, fire safety, competitive games, a dance, movie night with popcorn, snow cones, and much more. It was a fun week full of learning, friendships, and great memories! 🦸 🍀 🏕️
