The OSRC has heard your concerns regarding the recent implementation of an LPN-RT position at OU Health. OSRC's interest is in ensuring that respiratory care services are provided safely and by clinicians who possess the education, training, demonstrated competency, and ongoing assessment necessary to provide high-quality patient care. Before determining whether any action is warranted, AARC recommends obtaining additional information regarding the specific duties assigned to the LPN-RT position, applicable Oklahoma laws and regulations, competency requirements, supervision expectations, and the impact on patient care delivery.
