OCREA - Oklahoma County Retired Educators Association

OCREA - Oklahoma County Retired Educators Association We are the district of the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association that serves education retirees in Oklahoma County - also known as the Capitol District.

The Oklahoma County Retired Educators Association (OCREA) was organized for ALL members of the Teachers' Retirement System in Oklahoma County. Anyone who received a retirement check (teacher, administrator, support personnel, health care services, spouse of member) is entitled and encouraged to become a member.

Last week UCO education majors were awarded scholarships from the OCREA - Oklahoma County Retired Educators Association! Of the 10 scholarships awarded, Central students received all 10 - congrats Bronchos!

Thanks to everyone who attended this mornings OCREA Unit Meeting. We honored a member with a Pioneer Award, awarded scholarships to ten education majors from the University of Central Oklahoma and were entertained by The Oklahoma Senior Follies Joy Tour. And, last but not least, we had delicious refreshments and wonderful fellowship with our fellow retired educators and future educators.

The next OCREA meeting will be Saturday, April 18th at the Health & Wellness Center, 11501 N. Rockwell in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Senior Follies Joy Tour will perform for us. We will also present a Pioneer Award to one of our members and award several OCREA Scholarships to college students. Hope you can join us!

Today was a beautiful spring day and our visit to the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine was a perfect setting for our OCREA Excursion. Special thanks to our tour guide, Lisa, for so much wonderful information. We enjoyed lunch at Charleston’s after the tour.

Today was a chilly February day but the sun was shining and a perfect morning for our OCREA meeting. A BIG thanks to Bill and Claudia While for lots of delicious food! Jean Hendrickson brought us a devotional and Joe Wynn conducted the meeting. We all enoyed a presentation from Shelley Bierschank, Executive Director of Preservation Oklahoma. Today was a beautiful Oklahoma fall day for our November OCREA meeting. Delicious refreshments, a thoughtful devotional, an informed legislative update, and extra special guest Benjamin Franklin! We also signed up five new members! Thanks to everyone who attended.
