We are a group of earth science enthusiasts who share a passion for gems, minerals, fossils, and the lapidary arts since 1946! Member interests include paleontology, fossil collecting, geology, mineral collecting, faceting, stone carving, jewelry making, silver-smithing, wire wrapping, beading, and much more.
Education is at the heart of our activities. We provide rock identification kits for teachers, sponsor geology and rock identification programs at libraries, and offer college scholarships. By sparking curiosity in children and supporting future scientists, we help keep the study of earth sciences alive and thriving.
We also enjoy hands-on activities such as field trips, demonstrations, swap meets, and other fun get-togethers. Members display their collections at libraries, schools, and community events.
You’re invited to join us at the Will Rogers Garden Center, 3400 NW 36th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73112. We meet at 7:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month (except December) for a short meeting, a silent auction, and an educational presentation.
Our members share knowledge and work on projects together at our:
· First Monday Work Night at 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
· Second Tuesday Work Night at 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
We hope you’ll visit us soon and discover the fun and friendship our club has to offer!
