Our hearts are SO FULL after yesterday. ❤️🥹

Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve spent the past several days crying on and off somewhere between pure joy, complete exhaustion, and feeling so incredibly blessed. 😂😭❤️ Starting a rescue is no small thing, and getting to celebrate ONE YEAR of SOARS surrounded by so much love and support is something I’ll never forget.

We couldn’t have dreamed of a more special way to wrap up our first year, and it’s all because of YOU!

And the wins?! Y’ALL. 🥹🐾 We received 7 adoption applications yesterday, including applications for pairs! SEVEN! That is a HUGE deal! Our team is processing them today, and we’re keeping our fingers and paws crossed for some wonderful matches! 🤞❤️

It was also so special to see our fellow rescues and animal welfare organizations show up to celebrate alongside us. We’re all working toward the same goal, and having you there meant more than you know!

Rescue is hard. The cases are heartbreaking, the work never seems to end, and some days it feels like we can’t possibly do enough. But yesterday was a beautiful reminder of WHY we do this. There are people who care, people who show up, and a community that believes in what we’re doing.

SOARS may be a little rescue finishing its first year, but we are surrounded by some pretty incredible people. To our supporters, adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors, fellow rescues, sponsors, and everyone who came out yesterday — THANK YOU for being part of our story. ❤️

I’m exhausted, emotional, probably still going to cry a little more, and more grateful than I can put into words. What started as a dream has become something so much bigger because of this community.

Here’s to year two, more lives saved, more happy endings, and a whole lot more tails wagging! 🐶🐱

We did this together. And we’re just getting started. 🐾❤️

We don’t understand it… 💔

Somehow, Tilly and Loki keep getting passed over. Overlooked. Forgotten. Promised a chance, only to be left waiting all over again.

Tilly has had multiple approved applications, only for people to ghost us or change their minds at the last minute — before even meeting her. Each time, there’s the promise of a family. A meeting to look forward to. A chance that maybe this is finally it.

And then no one shows up. No one even sends a message.

We can’t help but wonder how many more times this sweet girl has to get her hopes up just to have them crushed.

And then there’s Loki. 💔

Loki sits quietly at adoption events, watching people walk past him without a second glance. He curls up in his foster mom’s lap, calm and content, just waiting. He doesn’t demand attention. He doesn’t put on a show. He’s just a sweet little 15-pound white dog hoping someone will finally see him.

Event after event, he keeps waiting for his person to walk through the door.

Maybe he’s too quiet. Maybe he’s too calm. Maybe people look right past him because he’s just a little white dog.

But Loki is so much more than what someone sees in passing. He has a whole world of love to give, and somewhere along the way, we worry he’s being overlooked simply because he doesn’t shout for attention.

Tilly and Loki are still waiting. They’re still hoping. But we wish we could make people understand that behind every adoption profile is a real little soul waiting for their life to change.

They don’t need to be the most popular dogs at an adoption event. They don’t need a dozen applications or hundreds of likes.

They just need ONE person to choose them. One family to show up. One person who sees them and says, “That’s my dog.”

Can we please change the story for these two?

Can we find Tilly and Loki the forever homes they’ve been waiting for? The families who won’t leave them wondering if they’ll ever be enough?

Today was so much fun and SO busy. Honestly, I suck at capturing pictures when I’m running around. I wanted to get a picture of all our board members as well but we were POOPED by the time we got packed up. Well has what few pictures we got posted later and some fun and exciting update! FREEDOM RIDES & SECOND CHANCES! 🐾❤️

5 out of the 6 Dobermans have been picked up, and our last baby gets their freedom ride TOMORROW! We don’t have all the pictures yet, but we were just TOO excited to wait to share the good news! 🥹❤️

And today’s bonus pull? Meet Dakota! 🐶

Dakota was adopted as a puppy, but a year later, she found herself back at the OKC shelter when her owner became pregnant and could no longer care for her. Through absolutely no fault of her own, this girl went from having a home to facing euthanasia.

But today, her story gets a new chapter. Today, her life starts again. ❤️

Six Dobermans needing a chance. One bonus girl who deserved a second chance. So many lives changed because people chose to care.

THIS is what a community can do when we come together. Every share, donation, connection, and helping hand makes a difference. We cannot do this alone, and we never want to take for granted the people who stand beside us and these animals.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. Every single one of you is part of these freedom rides. Every single one of you is part of their second chances. 🐾
