A Little Wind, A Little Chill, and a Whole Lot of Adventure!

Yesterday was another wonderful day at YMCA Camp DaKaNi as we welcomed students from Casady School for a day of Outdoor Education!

The Oklahoma wind was blowing, and the temperatures reminded us that fall has arrived, but that didn’t slow these students down!

From tackling new challenges to encouraging classmates and stepping outside their comfort zones, these students discovered that some of the best lessons happen beyond the classroom walls.

At YMCA Camp DaKaNi, we believe the outdoors is one of the greatest classrooms a child can experience.

Our programs are about more than activities. They’re about building confidence, strengthening friendships, learning teamwork, and discovering what you’re capable of accomplishing.

And sometimes, all it takes is a little fresh air, a new adventure, and someone cheering you on!

We want to thank the students and educators from Casady School for spending their day with us. We loved having you at camp!

Summer may have ended, but the adventures at YMCA Camp DaKaNi are just getting started!

“Something beautiful stopped by our YMCA Camp DaKaNi Youth Garden today!

As the monarch butterflies make their incredible fall journey south, this little traveler found a place to rest and refuel right here at camp.

And the butterflies aren’t our only visitors this week!

We’re excited to welcome our Fall Break campers and visiting groups for a week filled with outdoor adventures, exploration, laughter, and memories!

TODAY WAS A GREAT DAY AT YMCA CAMP DAKANI!

Today we welcomed Roosevelt Academy as the very first school to experience our new Outdoor Education program, DaKaNi EDGE — Experiential Development for Growth & Exploration!

A HUGE thank you to Roosevelt Academy for sharing your amazing students with us. We loved watching your students explore, learn, laugh, work together, and discover what can happen when the outdoors becomes the classroom.

This was more than our first EDGE school visit—it was the beginning of something we have been working hard to build, and we are so excited for what is ahead!

LEADERSHIP. SERVICE. LEGACY.

YMCA Camp DaKaNi would like to share our heartfelt gratitude and admiration for Gavin Williams, who chose our camp as the beneficiary of his Eagle Scout project!

Gavin led his fellow Scouts from Troop #78 in revitalizing our outdoor stage and walkway ramp. Through their hard work, teamwork, and commitment to service, they have made this special gathering space safer, stronger, and ready to welcome campers and guests for years to come.

Captain was honored to welcome Gavin and Troop #78 to Camp DaKaNi and watch these young leaders put their skills into action. An Eagle Scout project is about much more than repairing boards or improving a space—it is about leadership, responsibility, service, and leaving something better than you found it.

Gavin, you did exactly that.

Every campfire, program, song, celebration, and memory that happens on this stage will carry a little piece of the legacy you and your team left behind.
