This program encourages students from elementary to university levels to learn about food insecurity and take action by participating in an annual competition to see which school can raise the most donations.

Last week, Jack Miller, former food sourcing manager at the Regional Food Bank, was honored by the Oklahoma Pork Council with the Golden Pig Award!

This award is given to those who have had a career of impact on pork production. Jack has worked alongside the Oklahoma Pork Council since 2012 on the FFA and 4-H Food for Kids Protein Stick Program.

Since 2012, more than 5,350 animals have been donated, enabling more than 8.7 million protein sticks statewide for the Regional Food Bank and Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
