Paseo FEAST is THREE DAYS AWAY! To celebrate, we'd like to introduce our last finalist, the local theatre group: Whatever Works!

Whatever Works is a collaboration that champions the development of new theatrical work in the Oklahoma City area. Support from FEAST 2026 would go to supporting the workshopping of new scripts, performing staged readings of developing work and creating production opportunities for OKC-area playwrights, directors, and performers.

Mack Brim is back at the PACC with an Expressive Portrait Workshop! The class will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 6-9pm!

This beginner-friendly class will guide you step by step as you learn to paint a portrait. No experience is needed. You’ll send the photo you’d like to paint, and we’ll provide all materials.

About the Instructor:
A lifelong artist and seasoned instructor with a passion for fostering creativity, brings over five years of teaching experience to her diverse array of students. From elementary-aged pupils to spirited individuals in their 90s, her teaching portfolio spans a variety of mediums, including watercolor, drawing, and acrylic. Mackenzie is known for her commitment to providing clear and concise instruction, ensuring that her students not only grasp artistic techniques but also find joy and fulfillment in the learning process. Beyond the classroom, Mackenzie is an oil painter, recognized on an international scale. Her captivating works have been showcased in exhibitions in Dallas, Houston, New York City, and Los Angeles. As a professional artist, Mackenzie's pieces have found homes in private collections around the world.

Next up for our Paseo FEAST finalists, we have KYD/Keenan Jones' "GROVES: Signal Night!"

"GROVES: Signal Night" is a public listening performance and
walk-through memory archive where original alternative R&B, projected forests, printed fragments and an off-hook phone transform an Oklahoma room into the abandoned interior of a relationship. Audiences can explore the installation, witness a live set, and anonymously add one memory they are still carrying to the archive.

Our next Paseo FEAST finalist is Katie Graham, who is proposing "The Story of Night and Day!"

This project expands upon Graham's embroidered appliqué collection, The Story of Night & Day and its companion picture book by shifting its existing narrative into a traveling performance art experience. Grahamsd will design and construct a fully functional puppet theater made from textile materials.

Meet the lady paintings the legends, Tracey Brauer, the artist behind "Stories Untold!"

Tracey Brauer began drawing at an early age, with her doting father Roy, who was a wonderful artist. Tracey learned to live life with a pencil in her hand. She has always been drawn toward realistic images of the things she loves. She loves drawing the multitude of images of animals, people and landscapes she observes while living on her horse ranch in Edmond, OK. If it has fur or feathers, chances are she's drawn or painted it. She works in oils, watercolor and pastels.

Tracey’s art work has been featured in many local art venues around Oklahoma including Art on Paseo, Paseo Gallery One, Red Dirt Gallery, and Edmond Fine Arts Institute. She is kept busy with commission work and loves doing commemorative portraits.

Our second finalist for Paseo FEAST is Julius R. and their project, "The Party Wall Initiative!"

The Party Wall Initiative is a mural program that revitalizes a space historically known for community events into a site where public art changes on a cyclical schedule, paying emerging Oklahoma artists to create rotating works on the building walls and on modular panels that refresh in cycles to activate the space.

We have a new workshop for you! Sign up for the Papermaking Workshop with Lynn Sparks! The class will be on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6-9pm at the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center!

Learn how to create individualized paper using recycled scrap paper and botanical materials. Engage in a multi-step process that will create beautiful stationery, great for gifts, watercolor, printmaking, or handwritten letters. Guests will create a total of three 4.5" x 4.5" sheets, with color options of blue, white, and one custom color!

About the instructor: Lynn Sparks
Lynn Sparks is the former owner/operator of Los Milagros Print Studio, an open access studio, for thirteen years. There, she hosted several Master Printmakers, who shared their vast experience with attendees, including the late Julia Ayers, the still living Ron Pokrasso and Dan Welden. She then moved to Florida where she continued printing and showing in a gallery in Venice, Florida. After living and participating in the local art scene there for ten years, she returned to Oklahoma to find a vital and growing printmaking scene, as well as burgeoning art community.

LAST CALL FOR SMALL ART SHOW! Submit by TONIGHT!

This annual juried exhibition hosted by the Paseo Arts Association takes place in Gallery II of the Paseo Arts & Creativity Center during the month of November AND December! Open to small, original work of all mediums. Work must be no larger than 15" in any direction, including framing. All work must be priced between $25 and $199.

This year's juror is Erica Nkechi, Executive Director of Heart Studios.

As a child, Nkechi spent much of her time drawing and art gave her something to feel proud of. In high school, she discovered painting and it quickly became a medium she continued to return to. As an educator, Nkechi wants her students to build confidence through art and understand how creativity can support emotional expression and well-being.

As a dual citizen of Nigeria and the United States, Nkechi's artwork reflects her multicultural experience and her appreciation for her roots. She is the first generation of her African family to be an American citizen and her work is inspired by the colorful lifestyle and culture of Nigeria. She often uses Ankara fabric from Nigeria in her mixed media work. Each time she returns to Nigeria, she tries to bring back different Ankara fabrics that she can later use in her artwork.

In 2017, Nkechi founded Heart Studios in Edmond, Oklahoma. The art studio is one of her favorite places to be. At Heart Studios, the team provides private and group art classes that inspire students to discover their artistic talents and build confidence through art. Nkechi has realized that helping her students create beautiful works of art is just as enjoyable as creating her own.

Support your local creatives through community funding!

Five talented groups have been chosen to pitch their projects to win a creative grant voted by YOU! Each guest with a ticket to attend the FEAST event receives a voting token and can mingle with the five finalists before the program begins while receiving delicious food and drinks. Half of the ticket sales will then be put into the grant that will benefit the winning artist!

And to add to the excitement, this year's Master of Ceremonies is the one and only Jerry Bennett!

Jerry Bennett is a freelance illustrator and graphic novelist. Jerry has held art residencies across the state, including the PAA's SPACE residency. Across showing comic art and teaches the comic art process. Bennett is the SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) Global U.S. Illustrator Coordinator and is also an establishing board member of the Oklahoma Comic Arts Foundation.
