And I will FOREVER say, DON’T SLEEP ON THESE GIRLS!
Never count them out until the very last out.
These girls have the fight, the grit, and the passion to push through, even when things get tough. This weekend, they played a total of 8 games, and every single one of them stepped on that field with a purpose.
This is their FIRST season of kid pitch, and they are learning, adjusting, battling, and proving that they belong. The outcome may not have been exactly what we wanted, finishing 3rd out of 14 teams, but let’s be clear: that is STILL an accomplishment worth being proud of!
These 8/9 yr old girls are going out there, putting their best foot forward, competing against tough competition, and fighting until the very last out. They are learning what it means to face adversity, make adjustments, pick each other up, and keep pushing forward when things don’t go their way.
I couldn’t be prouder of each and every girl on this team. Every game, every challenge, every win, and every loss is part of the journey. You’re going to win some, you’re going to lose some, What matters most is what you take away from those moments and how you use them to become better, stronger, and more confident players.
This weekend was another opportunity to learn, grow, and get better. We may not have walked away with the championship, but these girls walked away with experience, lessons, and even more reasons to keep working.
Never count these girls out. Never underestimate their heart. And NEVER sleep on Gametime 2k17!
