We’re closing out BTG’s August Business Spotlight Series by celebrating Roshonda Coleman, owner of Anointed Hands Express Blowout Boutique.
For Roshonda, it has always been about more than beauty. With more than 25 years in the industry, her entrepreneurial journey has been shaped by faith, perseverance, continuous learning, and a commitment to excellence.
Since beginning her career in 2000, Roshonda has grown from stylist to entrepreneur—founding Anointed Hands, launching her own hair-care line, and eventually establishing Anointed Hands Express Blowout Boutique.
Her encouragement to fellow entrepreneurs is simple but powerful: build on a strong foundation, know your craft, collaborate with others, resist comparison, and don't let difficult seasons convince you to quit.
Roshonda's journey reminds us that challenges don't have to signal the end. They can strengthen the wisdom, character, and resilience needed for what comes next.
💜 As we close this year's Business Spotlight Series, we celebrate Roshonda and every entrepreneur we've had the privilege of highlighting this August. Continue supporting, sharing, and investing in Black-owned businesses—not just during Black Business Month, but throughout the year.

Meet this week’s BTG Business Spotlight Michel LuGrand Bruner, Owner/Operator of Purdy & Posh Upscale Resale Boutique & Salon.

With more than 40 years of experience as a professional hairstylist, Michel has built her career around something deeper than beauty. Her work is about helping women recognize their value, strengthen their confidence, and present themselves in ways that reflect who they truly are.

Through beauty, fashion, faith, and encouragement, Michel reminds women to speak kindly to themselves, establish healthy boundaries, walk confidently in their gifts, and refuse to allow fear or the opinions of others to determine their worth.

Her message is beautifully simple: confidence begins within.

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

💜 Support the Spotlight: Follow Purdy & Posh, share Michel’s story, and support women-owned businesses that help other women see the beauty and value already within themselves.

This week, BTG is proud to spotlight Tujuana Hale, Founder & Co-Owner of Genesis Sea Moss.

Tujuana’s journey into wellness grew from a passion for natural health and a desire to make a positive impact in her community. Alongside her husband and business partner, David Hale, she built Genesis Sea Moss as a faith-based wellness company focused on promoting health, energy, and vitality through natural sea moss products.

But her story reaches beyond wellness. Tujuana is also passionate about encouraging women to overcome fear, embrace change, and pursue the purpose placed within them. Her journey is a reminder that it is never too late to start again, pursue a new vision, or step boldly into something greater.

This Black Business Month, we celebrate Tujuana for building a business rooted in wellness, faith, purpose, and community.

💜 Support the Spotlight: Follow Genesis Sea Moss, share this feature, and support a women led, Black-owned business making an impact in our community.

Bridging The Gap OASIS Foundation Ladies,

Sometimes, life requires us to start over—and that’s okay.

Take a deep breath. Find your strength in God, and give yourself permission to begin again. Starting over is not a sign of failure; it’s often the beginning of something greater.

Stay focused on the purpose God has placed inside of you. No matter what challenges come your way, remember that God is with you, and He will give you the strength to overcome every obstacle.

You were created with purpose. You are stronger than you think. By God’s grace, you will survive, you will heal, and you will thrive. Remember We Are Bridge Builders.

“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
