Today’s special election presents a rare opportunity to address one of the root causes of homelessness in Oklahoma: the widening gap between wages and housing costs.

We meet neighbors and guests every day who have worked hard, held jobs, and have still found themselves unable to keep up with rising housing costs. Homelessness is a complex issue, but the growing gap between wages and the cost of living remains its most significant driver. The decisions we make today about the economic realities facing working Oklahomans can shape the strength and stability of our communities for years to come.

We believe that homelessness is a community issue that deserves a community response. We encourage you to visit www.oklahoma.gov/elections to learn about the election, and check out the link in our bio to discover how minimum wage directly impacts increased homelessness inflow in our communities.

For City Care, 2025 brought incredible growth in our programs, sparked new partnerships across the community, and fostered remarkable stories of resilience and transformation. With the completion of our annual State of the Agency report and presentation, we have the honor of sharing our life changing work with you.

We are pleased to share that in 2025, the City Care team:
- walked alongside 228 of our neighbors, including 43 families, on their journey to dignified, long-term housing, ending their experience of homelessness;
- served 1,396 night shelter guests in Oklahoma City and Norman;
- Provided 11,393 rides to social services on our Mobile Outreach & Engagement (MOE) shuttle;
- and launched a $14 million capital campaign to address two urgent and interconnected needs: safe medical recovery for neighbors discharged into homelessness, and expanded access to affordable housing for our communities most vulnerable populations.

As a member of our community, you help make City Care's mission possible. To learn more about our work and the impact we're creating together, we invite you to check out our full State of the Agency report at https://doc.storydoc.com/m1SOYE or by visiting the link in our bio!
