A walkable OKC is not only about infrastructure. People in southwest OKC don't feel safe walking in their neighborhood because of dangerous animals. This seems to be becoming a trend around the city, so how do other cities avoid this? What changes need to be made to make sure we remove this barrier to a walkable city?

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! This month several communities in Central Oklahoma are participating in the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project, where volunteers take manual counts of people on foot or on bike for 2 hour shifts. This is one step in our region's efforts to collect data on active transportation. Both Norman and Edmond are still looking for volunteers. Edmond is counting THIS WEEK Thursday, Sept. 17 from 5-7 PM and Saturday, Sept. 19 10 AM – Noon. Norman is counting next week Tuesday, Sept 22 4:30- 7 pm and Saturday Sept 26th 10 am – 12 pm. Reply if you can help and we'll give more information.
