You are invited to attend “Sovereignty Day Hot Topics in Federal Indian Law,” taking place July 9-10. This event has been organized by the Tenth Circuit Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Tribal Relations. The Advisory Committee consists of federal judges, tribal judges, representatives from tribal governments, practicing attorneys, and law professors who seek opportunities to enhance how the federal judiciary communicates and maintains relationships with tribal governments and organizations in the Circuit, including through continuing legal education like this event.

This event will open with a Reception on Thursday, July 9, at 5:00 p.m. at Citizen House, featuring a Keynote Address by Hon. David Hill, Principal Chief, Muscogee (Creek) Nation. The CLE will take place on Friday, July 10, from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., at the William J. Holloway Jr. United States Courthouse, featuring comprehensive sessions covering a variety of hot topics in Federal Indian Law presented by members of the judiciary and practicing attorneys. 6 hours CLE credit anticipated. CLE credit has been applied for in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming. There will be an option for virtual attendance for the CLE.

Registration Fee is $100 for FBA members, $125 for non-members. The fee covers both the Reception on July 9 and the CLE on July 10.

FBA-OKC’s Younger Lawyers Division will present its second “Litigation Academy” on Appellate practice on Tuesday, February 24, 1:30-5:00 p.m. This seminar will offer younger lawyers (8 years of practice or fewer) the chance to speak with federal judges, including 10th Circuit Judge Robert Bacharach, as well as work with seasoned attorneys, on appellate procedure and best trial and appellate law practices for trial practitioners.
