9,500 children under 5 probably died today due to hunger related causes throughout the world. That's a child for each circle on these papers. How many preschools and nurseries does that equal? This tragedy is preventable, folks. Please support our teens as we raise money to feed and care for hungry kids around the world! Our famine will last for 30 hours, but theirs will last until people like you and me stand with God in caring for the "least of these", who are infinitely precious in His sight. And because of the generosity of people like you, this tragic statistic is only half of what it was 20 years ago! Let's keep at it!

Hey 180U! The article I've attached reminds me of our conversation a few weeks ago. Think about this with me...

I appreciate those states that (at least in this case) don't allow the *almighty dollar* to define every aspect of their value system. Work is meaningful and contributes to society. However, we are not "human doings", but "human beings"--God has given us the gift of rest, a time for us to remember our identity in God, who is relational in identity (Father, Son, Spirit). We are not how much we can work, earn, and buy, but rather who we are in relationship with God and each other. Enjoy time with your loved ones this holiday season and live in daily gratitude of the Giver of every good and perfect gift, Whose love endures forever.
