Mark your calendars for November 8-10, 2026, as planners, commissioners, community leaders, students, and design professionals from across the state gather in Bartlesville for the 2026 Oklahoma Planning Conference: Oklahoma In Focus.

The conference will feature educational sessions, keynote speakers, networking opportunities, local tours, and recognition of excellence in planning and community development.

Looking for a clearer understanding of how planning and development decisions get made in your community?

Join APA Oklahoma this summer for our Certified Citizen Planner Training, a 4-part series designed to build a strong foundation in planning, zoning, public meetings, and the processes that shape development decisions. With support from OG&E, we’re excited to bring this training opportunity to communities across Oklahoma.

📅 Fridays: July 31, August 7, 14, and 28
⏰ 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day

From planning fundamentals and community engagement to zoning, long-range planning, and implementation tools, this training is built to help participants feel more confident navigating the planning process.

Participants must attend all four sessions to receive their certificate.

Rain or not, Guthrie showed up ☔️

Huge thanks to everyone who braved the weather and joined us for our Mini-Conference on May 21. We spent the day diving into AICP prep and ethics with Charlie Warnken, plus a great session from Dan Kassik on Guthrie’s development code update.

The weather had other plans for our walking tour, but the day was still a great reminder of how valuable it is to get together, learn from each other, and spend time with fellow planners across Oklahoma.

Registration is open for the 2026 APA-OK Guthrie Mini-Conference!

Spend the day in Guthrie with APA Oklahoma on Thursday, May 21, 2026, for a one-day mini-conference focused on professional development, local planning practice, and connection in historic downtown Guthrie.

The day will include AICP prep, ethics, local planning insights, and a downtown walking tour, followed by a networking happy hour at Guthrie Brewing Co.
