Joe's Addiction

Joe's Addiction Joe's Addiction is a Coffee House Community
***All pictures posted with permission! ❤️*** We’d love to share some crazy good coffee with you.

Joe's Addiction serves up a crazy good cup of coffee in an atmosphere that has been called a pleasantly quirky blend of Moroccan cafe and grandma’s living room. From specialty lattes to frozen mudslides, our own blend of Masala Chai to a good ‘ole cup of Joe, the drinks are all “crazy good.”

More than just a coffee shop, Joe’s is also a Community. We call it a Community of Hope—people from variou

s backgrounds who “hang out” and do life together. You’ll find folks unwinding with a good book, working on their laptop, visiting with one another, or playing a friendly game of Skipbo. Community events and services happen all through the week, from Food Pantry to a Weekend Free Store, to NA meetings, and even church on Sundays. Friday nights are crazy fun with sober karaoke, free bingo, and live music. To paraphrase Dorothy Day, we have found it’s easier to be good when you’re hanging out with a bunch of other people who are trying to be good. So whether you want to zoom in and grab your favorite drink to go, sit in a corner and relax, or join in a rousing game of cards, ALL are welcome.

**When the temperatures rise, choosing kindness gets a little harder.**

The Oklahoma heat has a way of testing all of us. Tempers get shorter. Patience runs thinner. The stress of daily life feels a little heavier under the summer sun.

At Joe’s, our days are often full—serving meals, coordinating the vet clinic, helping guests access the shower truck, and responding to the countless needs that walk through our doors. While those services are essential, we also know that people need more than resources. They need moments to simply *be human*.

This week, our amazing intern created one of those moments.

She gathered paints, brushes, and a handful of rocks and invited our community to slow down for a little while. No agenda. No expectations. Just an opportunity to sit together, create, laugh, and focus on something beautiful.

As paint covered rocks and conversations flowed around the picnic table, something special happened. For a brief moment, the heat, the stress, and the challenges of the day faded into the background. People connected. They encouraged one another. They expressed themselves through art. They practiced mindfulness without even realizing it.

The finished rocks are wonderful, but the real masterpiece was the time spent together.

These small moments matter. They remind us that healing isn’t always found in the big things. Sometimes it’s found in a paintbrush, a shared table, and the simple act of creating alongside someone else.

At Joe’s, we’re always working to meet practical needs—but we’re equally committed to nurturing the hearts and minds of the people we serve.

Because everyone deserves a place to belong, create, and be seen.💜💕🥰

⏳ The countdown is on!

Our current Joe's t-shirt design is nearing the end of its first run, and time is running out to grab yours before it's retired.

Every shirt purchased does more than support Joe's—it directly supports our neighbors in need.

❤️ 1 shirt = 30 people fed
🧺 1 hoodie = 400 loads of laundry provided

That means your purchase helps put meals on plates, keeps clothes clean, and makes sure our community's most vulnerable neighbors have access to essential services and a place where they are welcomed with dignity.

Even if you're not able to purchase one today, you can still make a huge difference by sharing this post. Every share helps us reach someone who may want to support the mission.

Get yours before this design is gone, and help us spread the word by sharing this post with your friends and family.

Together, we can turn a shirt into a meal, a hoodie into hundreds of loads of laundry, and a simple purchase into lasting impact. ❤️

BREAKING NEWS!!!! 🚨‼️👀🚨‼️👀

At Joe’s, everything we do starts with one simple belief: **community, compassion, and dignity matter.**

Every meal served, every shower taken, every load of laundry washed — it all exists because people choose to show up and be part of something bigger.

That’s why we’re proud to introduce our NEW **T-Shirt of the Month** campaign. 🎉🎉

Each month, we’ll release a brand new, one-of-a-kind design — created with purpose and rooted in the mission of Joe’s. Once the month is over, that design is gone for good. No restocks. No repeats. Just meaningful pieces that represent real impact.

When you purchase, you’re directly helping us to continue serving our community — providing essential resources and creating a space where people are seen, valued, and cared for.

If you believe in what we’re building, and want a new way to get involved, this is your chance!

Every shirt = 30 meals served
Every hoodie = 300 loads of laundry

Wear the mission. Fuel the mission. 🩷

At Joe's Addiction, the peaceful property, open space, and calm atmosphere people experience doesn’t happen by accident. It takes constant upkeep, maintenance, and repairs to preserve the environment so many rely on as a place to breathe, reset, and feel safe.

Recently, we’ve faced several unexpected expenses: clearing out the creek on our property, repairing our lawn mower, replacing worn equipment, and fixing our washers and dryers that help us complete over 500 loads of laundry each month. We also have upcoming projects, including repairs to the frame of our entrance.

When something breaks at Joe’s, it’s rarely just an inconvenience—it impacts real people. A broken washer means someone may go without clean clothes. Equipment issues can delay meals, showers, or other basic needs. Property repairs affect the peace and flow of the space that helps keep tensions low and supports our mission of dignity and nonviolence.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to replenish what we’ve already spent and prepare for the repairs we know are still ahead. Every dollar helps us keep this space functional, peaceful, and available for the people who count on it.

If Joe’s has ever meant something to you, or if you believe spaces like this matter, we’d be grateful for your support. Together, we can keep the doors open, the machines running, and the peace intact.

Every now and then at Joe’s, something arrives that doesn’t immediately make sense.

A few days ago, an electric wheelchair was donated. We hesitated. It’s not something we regularly have a need for, and for a moment we wondered if it was something we should even accept.

But we’ve learned to trust the “just in case.”

So we said yes.

Then, not long after, he came.

A new friend sat at the bus stop across the street—double amputee, in a manual wheelchair, trying with everything he had to make it across traffic and into a place he hoped would welcome him. Cars passed. Time slowed. The distance felt impossible.

Two of our people saw him and didn’t hesitate. They stepped into the street, into the moment, and helped carry him safely across.

When he came through our doors, we brought him into the free store and shared what had just been given to us days before. An electric wheelchair. Waiting.

We asked him if he wanted it.

He looked at us—really looked—and said, “It’s a miracle!”

And maybe that’s the best way to describe what happens here.

Not big, flashy moments. Not things you can plan or predict. But quiet, perfectly-timed intersections of need and provision. Of people showing up for one another in ways that feel almost too intentional to be coincidence.

We see it again and again—things arriving without explanation, only to find their purpose in the hands of someone who needed them all along.

Little miracles.
Little blessings.

And when you stack enough of them together, they begin to look like something bigger.

Like community.
Like love.
Like kindness in motion. 🩷🩷🩷
