Trey Gowdy is a nationally recognized author and host of “𝘚𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘺 𝘎𝘰𝘸𝘥𝘺” broadcast on Fox. He graduated from Baylor University in 1986, and then in 1989 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was a member of the “Order of the Wig and Robe” honor society. From 1994-2000 Trey served as a federal prosecutor where he received the highest performance rating a federal prosecutor can receive – two years in a row and was also recognized with the Postal Inspector’s Award. In 2000, Trey was elected the 7th Circuit Solicitor in Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, SC, where he led an office of 25 prosecutors and 65 total employees.

In 2010, Trey became South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District Representative. While in congress Trey served on the Judiciary Committee, Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Intelligence Committee, Education and the Workforce Committee and Ethics Committee. In January of 2019, Trey returned to South Carolina to practice law, teach classes and speak on nationally important legal issues.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗶𝗻
𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵 & 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳

Born into abject poverty in rural Virginia, Dr. Carol Swain, went on to earn five degrees. Holding a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.S.L. from Yale, she also earned early tenure at Princeton and became a professor of political science and a professor of law at Vanderbilt. In addition to having three Presidential appointments, Dr. Swain is a former Distinguished Senior Fellow for Constitutional Studies with the Texas Public Policy Foundation. She has also served on the Tennessee Advisory Committee to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the 1776 Commission.

In 2025, she received the Frederick Douglass Lifetime Achievement Award for a lifetime of conservative service to the nation. Currently, she is a senior fellow at the Institute for Faith and Culture.

Robin Wright is a columnist for 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘠𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘳 and the author of several award-winning books on foreign affairs. She has reported from more than 150 countries on seven continents and has been a fellow at the Brookings Institution, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, U.S. Institute of Peace, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Yale, Duke, Stanford, Dartmouth, and the University of California.

She is the recipient of several awards, including the United Nations Correspondents Association Gold Medal for coverage of international affairs, the Overseas Press Club Award for “best reporting in any medium requiring exceptional courage and initiative,” Journalist of the Year from the American Academy of Diplomacy, the National Magazine Award, and the National Press Club award for diplomatic reporting.

She is the author of eight books, including “𝘙𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘴𝘣𝘢𝘩: 𝘙𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥,” which was selected as the best book on international affairs by the Overseas Press Club. She is also a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation awardee.

Charlie Hurt, our October 2026 speaker, is opinion editor for 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 and co-host of 𝘍𝘰𝘹 & 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘞𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘥. Hurt has covered politics in Washington for two decades, first as a beat reporter and later as a columnist and opinion writer. He is also a frequent guest on Fox News and Fox Business.

Hurt is recognized as the first journalist in Washington to recognize the rise of Donald Trump. Hurt credits his assessment of Trump on his lifetime in newspapers, covering many politicians, and growing up in a small, rural town working around the very people who would become Trump’s biggest supporters. Hurt has covered Congress for 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘣𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘳, 𝘞𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘌𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳, and 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴. He also worked as DC Bureau Chief of The New York Post, where he served as White House correspondent.
