We had the honor of celebrating some of our graduating clients recently! 🎓

At our client graduation celebration, we recognized more than 20 individuals who have not only moved into housing but also reached a level of stability where they feel confident navigating resources and taking their next steps independently.

Every graduate's journey has been different, but many shared things in common when reflecting on what having a home means to them: safety, independence, hope. Congratulations to our graduates for the amazing things they've accomplished!

In 2026, we have already graduated about 450 households from our housing programs! We're so grateful to our case managers and housing navigators who walk side by side with our clients and play a critical role in their success.

Last month, our camp rehousing team helped 15 of our neighbors living along the Virginia Avenue medians move into housing as part of the Key to Home OKC's Encampment Rehousing Initiative. For Marissa Reyes, one of our camp rehousing case managers, that work was especially meaningful. After previously working at our Winter Shelter and Day Shelter, she already knew some of the people she would eventually help house.

And the work doesn’t stop right after a lease-in. For the next year, Marissa and our camp rehousing team will continue meeting with their clients, helping them navigate challenges, work toward their goals, and build long-term stability. The goal is to prevent them from experiencing homelessness again.

Oklahoma City's Day Shelter will be closed on Tuesday, September 22nd for emergency plumbing repairs. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

From the Ashes OKC will serve dinner nearby at at NW 10th St & Pennsylvania Ave.

Fresh stART is headed to the Plaza Fest for the very first time!

Come find us at the Plaza District's 27th annual Plaza Fest on Saturday, September 26. We’ll have a booth full art created by Day Shelter guests, from paintings and jewelry to mixed-media pieces and more. Every piece will be available for purchase, and the artists receive proceeds from their work.

Fresh stART is an open-studio art program held twice a week at our Day Shelter, providing people experiencing and transitioning out of homelessness with a supportive space for creativity and self-expression. When you buy a piece of art, you’re putting money directly in their pockets while helping build confidence.

We’re excited to bring Fresh stART beyond our WestTown Resource Campus and DNA Galleries and into the Plaza District for this year’s festival. Stop by, check out the art and maybe take a piece home with you!

We’re hiring for our Winter Shelter!

As we prepare to open our Winter Shelter on November 1, we’re looking for seasonal advocates and janitors to join our team for the 2026-27 season.

Our Winter Shelter provides a safe, welcoming place for people experiencing homelessness during the coldest months of the year. Open 7 nights a week from November 1 through March 31, the shelter has 300 beds, kennel space for pets, meals, storage space, restrooms, and connections to services and resources.

Our seasonal advocates play an important role, welcoming guests, helping meet immediate needs, and connecting people with resources and services. Onboarding for advocates will begin on October 19th; it is paid and mandatory.

Our janitorial team helps keep the shelter clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who comes through the doors.

We did it! Our second ever HOMECOMING was a huge success. We met our $200,000 Homecoming match challenge — all thanks to you.💙

Our friends at the Gasaway Family Foundation and the Arnall Family Foundation generously matched all contributions to the HOMECOMING campaign. We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, attended, sponsored, volunteered and helped make our second-ever Homecoming such a success.

And now, we have even more exciting news... Our friends at Inasmuch Foundation are keeping the momentum going with a new $100,000 matching gift challenge!

Through December 31, unrestricted donations to the Homeless Alliance will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000. That means every gift can go twice as far to provide basic needs, housing assistance, and supportive services that help our neighbors move from homelessness to housing and stability.

This month, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the opening of our WestTown Resource Campus. 🎉 On it's first day, we had 80 guests in our Day Shelter. Now, we serve an average of 342 daily!

Since the Homeless Alliance was founded in 2004, our organization has grown and evolved alongside our community while remaining committed to helping our neighbors experiencing homelessness through collaboration and innovation. From meeting basic needs to helping people find and maintain housing, that commitment shapes everything we do.

We're excited to announce our NEW mission and vision statements that better communicate the life-changing work we do at the Homeless Alliance each day!

Our Mission: The Homeless Alliance exists to open doors to hope, housing, and stability for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Our Vision: An Oklahoma City where everyone belongs, everyone is housed, and any experience of homelessness is rare, brief, and met with compassion.
