so, what DIDN'T we talk about at last night's meeting? 😆
Between looking up vocab, the loud group nearby, and the lightning-fast topic shifts, it was hard to keep up! But I've done my best to remember some highlights.

Advanced Conversation meetings have no assigned topic - we never know where the conversation is going to go!

Join us on Saturday, July 18 for lunch at Naylamp Peruvian Restaurant South!

This month, our topic covers the traditions and origins of some of the national holidays in the United States. No, National Donut Day is not included on the list.

Beginners are urged to prepare for the meeting by downloading the meeting content, preparing their introductions (prompts are included in the content!), practicing the reading, and crafting responses to the discussion questions.

Advanced Spanish discussion on Tuesday, May 26th at the Full Circle Bookstore! RSVP's are appreciated 😁 If you can't RSVP, please send me a message so we can make sure to set a seat out for you.

You can prepare for the meeting by studying the free meeting content PDF. SpanishDictionary.com is a great resource for translation, and Google Translate is pretty good too.

What is an Advanced Spanish Conversation meeting like?
If we have new people, we go around with some introductions and then get into the reading, followed by sharing our responses to discussion questions related to the reading. The entire meeting is conducted in Spanish, with English used as sparingly as absolutely possible.

Nos encontramos a la chiminea entre las secciones de historia y astronomía.

What happens at an Intermediate Spanish meeting?
When we have new people, we start with brief introductions in Spanish, which will be followed by a reading of the meeting content. After each turn, the reader will provide a short explanation of the main idea of the paragraph (in Spanish). I'll be there to help if you get stuck on words, but remember the content is available to study ahead of time!

After reading la lectura, we will go around the room responding to three discussion questions that are related to the topic (... you guessed it - in Spanish!). The goal is to avoid English, but we do rely on it when we need to.
