Yesterday we closed the office and opened the playbook.
Our whole WatersEdge team β including teammates who often join us from a screen many miles away β spent the day together for our WatersEdge Team Summit. Training, vision, food, and a lot of laughing with the people we sometimes only see from the shoulders up.
A few highlights:
π One day, one room, one theme: team. Of course, with a subtle football thread running through everything. An All-American tailgate lunch, plays drawn up on the slides, and "jerseys" for everyone with the number 46 on the back. Nope, that's not a draft pick. 1946 was the year we were founded as the Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma to serve churches.
βͺ Dr. Todd Fisher, executive director of Oklahoma Baptists, recorded a message for us on the Baptist Faith and Message and the heritage we share as part of the Oklahoma Baptists family. His message was a helpful reminder of the shoulders on which we stand.
π€ And for a midday break because our office sits on the Bricktown Canal, we loaded three water taxis and took a lap around the neighborhood. Same city we work in every day β just from a different angle.
Things are moving quickly here, and we're genuinely excited about where the Lord is taking this organization. What isn't changing: churches, ministries, and generous givers are why we exist, and they've been the reason since '46.
Grateful for this team focused on our mission to financially empower donors and ministries to transform lives with the Gospel. π§‘
