We NEED you!

🙏🏼Service Opportunity - Size 18 Shoes

Sean wears a size 18 shoes and needs a new pair of shoes. His soles are hanging off and he has holes everywhere!
We have several friends that live outside and several friends that just got out of prison that have a larger size feet, and we do not have shoes for them.
We are in need of all sizes for men but more urgently larger sizes!

Also men’s jeans & shorts
sizes 28 through 38

We have 100’s of friends who come by daily with the simple NEED of a pair of shoes. It’s so hard for me to keep up.

Y’all, as the temperature changes and gets hotter - it means the ground gets extremely hot and dangerous.
As the weather changes with all the rain - it means the ground gets wet!

These are all trying and hard situations for our friends and pets that live outside.

We are so incredibly grateful for the donation of waterproof mattresses to take to the camps.

Y’all, Trevor is so special to me!! Keeping him (and so many others) in contact with their family is so important. I get to hear many of these conversations and it brings me to tears most times. I know it’s crucial to our friends struggling with mental health to show others they are loved. Trevor is in need of a little extra prayer this week.

Overwhelmed, grateful and humbled. All of these good words describe how we are feeling right about now.

In response to our offer of a $50,000 matching prospect, we have now received $64,153! And this, only one week after our initial ask for matching funds!

Once we receive the matching $50,000, we will only be $35,000 away from having our entire renovation budget filled!

And this on top of having already paid off our $700,000 building! 🥹

We KNOW this is all God. We know He is working in the hearts of those who believe in the work we get to do every day. And we believe your prayers are with us every step of the way. We absolutely could not be more grateful. So, thank you for all the prayers; the donations - both physical and financial; the encouragement and support; for serving alongside us and thank you for shopping with us! It all matters.

Starting May 18, an anonymous donor is giving $50,000 in matching funds to Second Chances! 🙌

That means for the next 30 days, EVERY donation will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000!

Because of your incredible generosity, we were able to PAY OFF our building 🎉 But now we need help completing the renovations so we can continue expanding the ministry and better serve our community.

Y’all! We are in awe of all God‘s goodness! The building is paid off, and as grateful as we are - that is just our first hurdle! We have started renovations at the new building and we are so excited! For all of you that know me, you know I will swipe and write a check on FAITH! Now is the time that we need help with renovations for the new building as we grow the ministry side of Second Chances Thrift Store, which is not going to be easy, but it will definitely be our biggest blessing! Showers, laundry services, a large full kitchen, a huge pantry for our community, dog crates, charging stations, medical services, case management services and so much more!
WE NEED YOU!
If you know anyone who is willing to help, please have them contact me. We are looking for help with plumbing, electricity, kitchen appliances, cleaning up and so much more!

Remembering…
Not every Mother’s Day arrives wrapped in flowers, breakfast trays, and smiling family photos. For some mothers, today is about survival. It’s about finding a safe place to sleep. Finding enough food for themselves or, even worse, to quiet hungry little stomachs. It’s trying to smile through exhaustion, so their children won’t see the fear in their eyes.
No mother dreams of being homeless. No child dreams of watching their mother struggle. Yet every day, in neighborhoods not far from our own, mothers fight battles most of us will never fully understand.
Then there are those who have lost their mothers to that very same homelessness and now have an emptiness we can’t understand.
So today, while many are surrounded by celebration and love, let us not forget the women who feel invisible. The mothers sitting in shelters. The mothers sleeping in cars. The mothers silently crying after their children fall asleep. The mothers praying for one more chance, one more door to open, one more tomorrow.
And while you hold your mother close, or while you celebrate the blessing of being loved by your children…pause for a moment and remember those who are hurting today.

Because sometimes the greatest gift we can give on Mother’s Day is simply refusing to let another mother feel forgotten.
