***Submissions due by APRIL 1st***
Calling All Women Veterans:
Your Artistry Can Frame Veterans Day 2024

We invite you to use your unique voice and talents to create a symbol of appreciation for all who have served. The Veterans Day National Committee announced the opening of submissions for the 2024 Veterans Day Poster Contest. In the past 45 years of this contest women Veterans have been underrepresented and this year - we aim to change that. This is more than an art contest; it's a historic opportunity to represent the fearless service of women Veterans.

Why Should You Participate?
**Historic Opportunity:**
We've not yet had the honor of featuring a woman Veteran as the face of the VA poster campaign.

**Celebrate Diversity:**
Your participation will help ensure representation that is as diverse as those who serve.

**National Recognition:**
The winning poster will be seen at VA facilities, military bases nationwide and at Arlington National Cemetery during our Veterans Day National Observance.

2024 Theme: “A Legacy of Loyalty and Service”

Your creation should embody the commitment and diverse experiences of those who've worn our nation's uniform. Let your art be a bridge that connects generations and acknowledges the service of our women Veterans. Before you dive into your creative process, check out our design submission guidelines to make sure your submission stands out in the way we know it can. Remember, the most successful designs are simple yet profound — capturing vast emotion and honor succinctly.

**Submission Details:**
DEADLINE: April 1, 2024 – 23:59 or 11:59 p.m. (EDT)
Email your artwork as jpg or PDF files to: [email protected] and copy (cc) CWV at [email protected].

Grab your canvas and brushes, or pixels and palettes. Showcase your legacy, your loyalty, and your service, and be the first woman Veteran to lead us into Veterans Day with your art as our banner. Make your mark and join a grateful nation in saying thank you to all who have served.

“You get to picture me with a full sea bag slung over my shoulder, full of some amazing memories, some heart-wrenching losses, lifelong friendships, and pride in so many great teams and teammates that I’ve been honored to serve alongside. I’m again proud, sad and excited for the next adventure.” – Navy Vice Adm. Michelle Skubic

After 35 years of service, Navy Vice Adm. Michelle Skubic retired last month. Skubic served as the 20th Defense Logistics Agency director and steered the organization through challenging times after taking the position only months into the COVID-19 pandemic.

More female veterans are receiving disability pay from the Department of Veterans Affairs than ever before, with officials crediting targeted outreach to women, increased eligibility for toxic exposure and improved wait times on military sexual assault claims.
