Fahrenheit: Real Life Mentoring

Fahrenheit: Real Life Mentoring Fahrenheit:
Real Life Mentoring Everyone wants to get more out of life. Get more out of relationships. But honestly, very few of us have a lot more to give.

Get more spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, vocationally. Life is busy. It’s messy sometimes. We can help. We teach real life mentoring for real people. We are an organization of real people who care about people’s lives. We happen to believe that we are created to have a personal relationship with God. We believe that our lives, connected with others, allows us to see our lives with

meaning and purpose. We help people develop authentic relationships that have a direct and lasting impact. We are here to give you tools to be an effective mentor and influencer! What do we do? We train people to become effective mentors so meaningful relationships are developed and people come to know God personally. These relationships will influence society by strengthening families, churches, education, and businesses. We do this by providing:

Mentoring Workshops
One on One mentoring & Small groups
Webinars
Podcast: Real Life Mentoring
Social media, blogs, newsletters
Partnerships with organizations and churches
Why Mentoring? Meaningful connection is something we are created to desire. It’s innate. But the reality is we live in a world where it’s possible to know what the people in our lives are doing 24 hours a day - and have no idea how they’re doing. As in: how they are really doing. Somewhere along the way, we gained a lot of communication tools but lost touch. The good news is the answer isn’t long and it isn’t complicated. It’s teaching real people how to connect and build relationships that change lives - without having to completely change your schedule to do it. In fact, you don’t need to change anything. Not your personality, not your habits, not your life. You just do you … and we’ll give you some simple tools to show you the way to an authentic connection. Sound like a lot of talk? Well, actually … yes. That’s a part of it! Interested in becoming an effective Mentor? Connect with us on our website: www.fahrenheitmentoring.org

🎙️ The Image of a Mentor — Part Two

Today, Chris and Christina continue their series exploring the images of a mentor by focusing on the traits and mindset of an athlete.
According to Google, an athlete is commonly defined as someone who competes in sports involving strength, speed, power, or endurance. But many of those same qualities can also be found in healthy, effective mentors.
Some athlete characteristics that connect closely to mentoring include:✨ Being intrinsically motivated✨ Endurance and perseverance✨ Specialized training✨ Knowing when to recover
Mentoring, much like athletics, requires intentional growth, discipline, consistency, and long-term commitment. Great mentors not only help mentees identify goals—they also help them develop a plan, stay focused, and continue growing through challenges.
Chris and Christina discuss how the character traits of an athlete can help shape mentors who encourage resilience, growth, and purposeful living in others.
Healthy mentoring isn’t about quick results—it’s about training for long-term transformation.

We all know we sin, but having a mentor gives a person a safe relationship and the freedom to be honest and real about their sin.

As a trusted mentor, you have the responsibility and the privilege to help a mentee address their sins, seek forgiveness from others, and help them move forward. This will greatly impact their relationships.

🎙️ The Image of a Mentor — Part One

Visual images often help us better understand important concepts—and today, Chris and Christina begin a powerful three-part series exploring the image of a mentor through three roles: farmer, athlete, and soldier.
In this episode, they focus on the life and mindset of a farmer.
According to Google, a farmer’s responsibilities vary depending on their specialty—and the same is true for mentors. Every mentoring relationship is unique, requiring different skills, approaches, and levels of investment.
Some characteristics of a farmer include:✨ Hard work✨ Patience✨ Consistency✨ Focus
Chris and Christina also discuss the life cycle of a farmer and how those same principles apply to mentoring relationships. Just like farming, mentoring often involves planting seeds, nurturing growth, waiting through seasons, and trusting the process over time.
Healthy mentoring rarely produces instant results—but faithful investment can lead to lasting impact.

🎙️ Nothing is Wasted

Mentoring should be personal, practical, meaningful, and effective. That’s the lens Chris and Christina bring to every one-on-one mentoring conversation.
In today’s powerful episode, special guest Davey Blackburn shares his deeply personal story of pain, suffering, healing, and redemption—and how God’s faithfulness met him in the middle of unimaginable loss.
In 2015, Davey lost his wife, Amanda, and their unborn baby during a random shooting spree in their neighborhood. After years of faithfully serving God as church planters and doing what many would consider all the “right” things, Davey suddenly found his world shattered by grief, shock, and suffering.
But in the middle of that pain, God began writing a new story.
As a single father navigating grief while leading in ministry, Davey discovered a deeper understanding of suffering, healing, and hope.
Today, Davey and his wife Kristi lead Nothing Is Wasted Ministries, a ministry dedicated to meeting people in their pain and providing a pathway through it.
In this conversation, Chris, Christina, and Davey discuss:✨ The mystery of suffering✨ Why the Church needs to talk honestly about pain✨ How suffering can shape us to become more like Christ✨ Finding healing, purpose, and redemption through hardship
