After experiencing homelessness herself, an Oklahoma City woman now prepares and delivers meals to people living on the streets while working to expand her outreach.

Her long-term goal is to open a residential lodge where people experiencing homelessness can receive support and work toward transitioning back into stable housing.

NO MORE HOMELESSNESS!!! 😭

Many of you know our friend John. He has experienced homelessness for 8+ years. Even before BeHeard started, John and Evan were close.

For years, it’s been housing lists. Waiting… waiting… and more waiting. John has been working, doing everything he can, but getting housed has been hard..

Then our team had an idea..What if we quietly raised enough money to get John his own trailer?

And YOU DID IT!!!😭 In just a few weeks, more than 40 people came together to help us purchase a trailer and we got to SURPRISE JOHN!!!

It was one of the most emotional moments we’ve ever experienced.

John survived 8 summers and 8 winters outside, while sadly, some of his friends didn’t make it.

So John… WELCOME HOME!!! 🧡

You finally have that locked door you’ve talked about for years. Your own bed. Your own space. And YOUR OWN SHOWER!

John has been using our mobile shower and laundry trailers since day one. Now, he gets to call a place his own.

There’s so much more to come, but this was BY FAR our favorite moment of the year.

WELCOME HOME, JOHN!!!
