Although we are super sad that we were unable to have a walk in OKC this year, there is still a way that you can continue to support the critical work of the Preeclampsia Foundation Official Site! I am sorry to say that we will not be hosting a 2017 Oklahoma City Promise Walk for Preeclampsia in our great state! However, I highly encourage everyone to support a Promise Walk for Preeclampsia that is in a state close to you or the virtual walk! The 2017 Promise Walk planning will be kicking off soon and we still need a volunteer to be the 2017 OKC Walk Coordinator!

It is a wonderful opportunity to reach out to the community, raise awareness about preeclampsia and keep the OKC Promise Walk going!

We are still looking for a Coordinator (or Coordinators!) to keep the Oklahoma City Promise Walk in 2017! The Preeclampsia Foundation staff are here to guide and support you every step of the way. We gained amazing momentum and built great community here in Oklahoma over the past few years with Laura Morrison's time and passion, and would love to see it continue! Questions? Interested?? Just a reminder - You can raise funds for 2 weeks post-walk date and qualify for the National Level Fundraising Incentives. These items are based on fundsraised per person.

Also, if you have a supporting fundraiser or something going on later than that, then let me know because the Preeclampsia Foundation can hold off on sending your claims certificate to you via email until after your donations come in.

As well, if you have a employer matching gifts are entered in when they are confirmed, as opposed to when they are received (which sometimes takes months after the walk) so fundraisers get the credit now.

We have some individuals who are close or have reached the first level item and are close to reaching the second level item! So, remember you still have 2 weeks to do additional fundraising!

What a wonderful day it was filled with raising awareness, celebrating our survivors and remembering those lost to Preeclampsia. You may all be snug in your beds but a walk coordinator doesn't sleep the night before the walk :-) Remember to bring cash or checks with you for the raffle and silent auction! We have some wonderful items available this year and Mother's Day is 8! You can do some shopping for your Mom plus your money will be helping other mothers and babies!
This is the schedule for 7 May 16:
0630-0730 - Hard working and dedicated volunteers will be sitting up the walk location

0745 - Registration/Check-in Opens
1. Morning refreshments will be available (coffee, OJ, pastries, fruit, other snacks, water and lemonade)
2. Kids Zone will be open (carnival g ames, crafts, Face painting, hula hoops/jump ropes/footballs)
3. Face painting will be open
4. Raffle/silent auction will be open

0830 - Welcome by Coordinator and Introduction of Sponsor/Speech by Sponsor
1. Drawing 'Fundraising Incentive' raffle prizes

0845 - Warm-up Exercises

0900-1000 - Walk Begins

1000 - Participants can enjoy refreshments, go to the Kids Zone, buy raffle tickets and make their silent auction bids

1015-1045 Raffle Drawings are done and Silent Auction Winners announced plus gather their payment for item won.

1045 - Hand out Butterflies, Read Poem, Moment of silence then Butterfly release

1100 - 2016 - Promise Walk Concludes

1100-1200 - Hard working and dedicated volunteers will be tearing down and cleaning-up the walk location.
