Gentle reminder that all labor takes skills and all labor has value!

Don’t forget that State Question 832 to raise the minimum wage in Oklahoma is officially and finally on the ballot this year on June 16!

A "yes" vote supports these 3 essential changes:

1. Increasing the minimum wage to $12 per hour in 2027, $13.50 in 2028, $15 in 2029;

2. Increasing the minimum wage each year beginning in 2030 according to cost of living increases

and

3. Making part-time employees, students, minors, farm and agricultural workers, domestic service workers, newspaper vendors and carriers, and feedstore employees subject to the state minimum wage.

The average state minimum wage in 2026 is $11.51. If this SQ passes, we would at least be AVERAGE for minimum wage in 2027.

Oklahoma needs more. You deserve more!

Some great information about absentee voting this upcoming election year!

As we enter 2026, we urge you to pay attention to elections, candidates, state questions and be prepared to use your voice at the ballot!

🗳️ Oklahoma Voters If You’re Using Absentee or Mail-In Ballots, Read This! 🗳️

If you’re voting by absentee or mail-in ballot in 2026, please make sure your ballot is mailed back early and received on time not just dropped in the mailbox.

Here’s what you need to know:
📬 Oklahoma’s official rule requires that your absentee/mail ballot must be received by your County Election Board no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day not just postmarked. That deadline is written into state law.

✍️ That means even if you put your ballot in the mail on Election Day, if it isn’t received by 7 p.m., it won’t be counted.

📅 Also remember:
• You must request your absentee ballot early usually by 5 p.m. on the third Monday before the election.

• Oklahoma often requires notarization for standard absentee ballots, so plan ahead.

📦 Important 2026 USPS update: The Postal Service has recently clarified that mail may not be postmarked the day you drop it in a mailbox it may be stamped later when it’s processed at a facility. That could affect how mail-in ballots are tracked and could cause confusion about whether it was mailed “in time.”

👉 Bottom line: Don’t rely on the postmark alone! Get your ballot in as early as possible, or hand-deliver it to the election board or a drop site before Election Day to make sure it’s counted.

📍 Plan ahead, vote early, and help ensure your voice is heard in 2026!

We held elections and swore in a new Executive Board to continue the growth of Oklahoma’s IAM Political arm.

More pictures from the event will be uploaded soon.

Our delegation voted to hold the meeting in Stillwater, OK next year, so OSCM will start working towards that event in October 2026.

Reinvigorated IAM Oklahoma State Council Gathers to Champion Working Families ✊

Oklahoma IAM Union members are rising up to make their voices heard — and to hold elected officials accountable to the needs of working families. The recently reinvigorated Oklahoma State Council brought together activists from across the state for a powerful meeting focused on building political power, strengthening labor unity, and growing our movement.

Under the leadership of Oklahoma State Council President Alana Kirkpatrick, IAM Union members are taking bold steps to reestablish a strong, united presence in the Sooner State — one that ensures the voices of working people are front and center in every political conversation.

In addition to speakers, members enjoyed poker and co****le tournaments that helped raise funds for the Machinists Non-Partisan Political League (MNPL), which relies on voluntary member donations to elect candidates that support IAM Union members.
