For nearly 65 years, City Rescue Mission has been the first stop on the path back to hope, walking alongside our neighbors’ experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma City.

📣 We're growing, and we're hiring!

Exciting things are happening at City Rescue Mission as we expand our programs and find new ways to help individuals and families move from homelessness to home!

One of those efforts is One Door OKC, a new community collaboration designed to make it easier for families experiencing or facing homelessness to find support, explore their options and connect with the resources they need.

As we prepare to launch this important work alongside our partners, we're growing our team and looking for people who are passionate about making a difference.

We're hiring for five City Rescue Mission positions supporting One Door OKC:
✔️Diversion Case Manager Supervisor – Lead our team and help coordinate daily operations with our partners at City Care.
✔️Assessment Case Manager – Work with families to understand their circumstances and identify possible solutions to their housing crisis.
✔️Triage Specialist – Welcome families, understand their immediate needs and help connect them with the right resources.
✔️Family Navigator – Help families connect with resources and take steps toward stable housing.
✔️Part-Time Case Manager – Provide individualized support as families work toward their housing goals.

At City Rescue Mission, we know that one size fits one. Every family has different circumstances, strengths and challenges. We're looking for team members who understand that, enjoy working with people and believe every family deserves the opportunity to find a path forward.

Myth: Most people experiencing homelessness are unemployed.
Truth: Nearly 68% of the clients we serve have some form of income when they come to City Rescue Mission.

For many individuals and families, homelessness is not simply the result of unemployment. Rising housing costs, unexpected expenses, medical issues, transportation challenges and other life disruptions can make it difficult to maintain stable housing, even when someone is working. That's why ending homelessness requires more than a paycheck alone.

At City Rescue Mission, clients have access to employment readiness services, case management and housing support as they work toward stability and a place to call home.
Every person's journey looks different. That's why we believe one size fits one.

"The ever-increasing number of families given a fresh start from homelessness to having a home they can call their own excites me." — Rodney Fouts

Rodney Fouts, Lead Pastor of NORTHCHURCH, serves on the City Rescue Mission Board of Directors, bringing a heart for serving others and a strong belief in the hope found in Christ.

Rodney was drawn to City Rescue Mission by the opportunity to serve people at risk of homelessness and be part of work that provides help, hope and healing.

"The chance to partner with City Rescue Mission by serving people at risk of homelessness with help, hope and healing is an honor!"

For Rodney, one of the most meaningful parts of serving is seeing the impact of the Mission's Christ-centered approach in the lives of those we serve.

"Seeing clients recenter their lives on Christ and experience the renewed hope that only He can give."

He's also encouraged by the growing number of families moving from homelessness into permanent housing and a home of their own.

And what does Rodney want our community to know about the work happening here?

Each year, we look forward to welcoming nursing students from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) to City Rescue Mission!

During their visit, students learn more about homelessness, the barriers our neighbors may face and how our housing-focused approach helps individuals and families work toward permanent housing and stability.

For future nurses, understanding the experiences of the people they will one day care for is an important part of their education. Homelessness can impact health in many ways, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to share what we see every day and help students better understand the whole person — not just their circumstances.

Thank you, SWOSU nursing students, for spending time with us, asking questions and learning more about our neighbors and the work happening at City Rescue Mission.

We hope what you learned here stays with you as you begin caring for people in communities across Oklahoma. 🧡
