On Friday, 296 brand-new winter coats were distributed at Kaiser Elementary through our Coat-A-Kid program. 🎉

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsor, OnCue Express, students had the opportunity to “shop” for, try on, and choose their own coat to take home – creating an experience centered on choice and confidence while helping remove a barrier to learning.

Partnerships like this help ensure OKCPS students have the support and resources they need to thrive in and beyond the classroom.

It was a joy to be in the Fiestas de las Américas parade on Saturday!

We brought Stella, our ReadOKC book bus, to join our community alongside OKCPS students, staff, and families in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and the vibrant culture that makes our city so special. 💙🧡💛

“It’s just so much more than a simple coat.”

KOCO joined us this morning at Kaiser Elementary for the second distribution event for the OKCPS Foundation’s Coat-A-Kid program, sponsored by OnCue Express.

Coat-A-Kid helps remove a barrier to learning by providing students with brand-new winter coats while building confidence and reminding them that their school and community are invested in their success.

As OnCue President Laura Aufleger shared, “It’s just so cool to get to see them kind of thrive” and leave with something they picked out and can call their own.

We’re grateful to Laura and the entire OnCue team for their investment in Coat-A-Kid and OKCPS students, and to KOCO for helping us share the impact of this program with our community.

The OKCPS Foundation held a Coat-a-Kid event at Kaiser Elementary School, giving students free winter coats to help them stay warm and attend school in freezing temperatures.

This morning, we kicked off this year’s Coat-A-Kid distributions alongside our lead sponsor, Bank of Oklahoma, at Hawthorne Elementary.

Students got to “shop” for, try on, and select a brand-new coat to take home, with plenty of smiles along the way.

We’re especially grateful to BOK Financial for their continued support of Hawthorne Elementary and their investment in Coat-A-Kid, helping build confidence and remove a barrier to learning for OKCPS students.
