Hello everyone.
For those of you that don't know me I go by DL.
As you all know October is breast cancer awareness month.
For all you CrossFitters out there this usually means you are going to be doing Grace sometime soon.
For those that are unfamiliar with CrossFit, Grace is a benchmark workout in our community that is 30 clean and jerks for time. Back in 2009 this workout also became a fundraiser within our community. Zionna, the founder of Barbells for B***s, took Grace and created an event that raised funds to fill a void as well as raise awareness. Barbells for B***s has since become a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing assistance in early detection of breast cancer. Through their grant program and with the help of their grantee partners they provide funds that go towards screening and diagnostic procedures.
These funds are raised by people all over the place doing what they can to help the cause, usually in the form of holding an event where athletes come together and complete the workout grace.
This is where I come in. For those that know my history you know I like to do fundraising a little differently. So, this October I plan to complete grace everyday of the month. And to make sure it is not the exact same thing everyday I plan to add my own little twist to the workout every now and than. Additionally, everyday will be recorded so there is 100% accountability for those that donate.
My goal for this is $3,100. Big or small, anything you can donate will help and be very much appreciated.
