By empowering Indigenous women, we also empower our children, building leaders within our homes and communities.

Matriarch is led by Indigenous women who share a common goal and commitment to empower other Indigenous women through education, community building, and direct services to create positive change within our communities. This leadership will positively impact Indigenous lives, create stronger communities and decrease rates of violence and abuse. Services include domestic and sexual abuse education,

cultural re-connection, su***de prevention, financial planning, physical, mental and spiritual health education, job market preparation, and healthy relationship guidance. Matriarch provides education and services through Indigenous Knowledge Keepers, speakers, and leaders who are subject matter experts in specific fields.

Hello Matriarch Community!

Our partner, and OKC meeting place, Culture Hub Collective has a call out for volunteers this weekend to help tabling at the Red Earth Festival at the Oklahoma Convention Center on August 1–2, 2026. There's also an afterparty on Saturday, August 1st from 7-10pm at Culture Hub. If you're interested in volunteering or mingling at the mixer, we'd love to have you!

2026 - 2027 Matriarch applications will open on Saturday, July 18th at noon. We are so excited to invite you to apply for year 11 of Matriarch!

Matriarch is an intertribal community organization promoting healing and empowering Indigenous women, Two Spirit and non-binary relatives through intergenerational, collective and Indigenous wisdom

Since 2016, Matriarch has been hosting classes twice a month, September through May in our Tulsa and Oklahoma City chapters. Each class is led by Indigenous women, Two Spirit, and nonbinary subject matter experts, that address issues impacting Indian Country as well as art making, mentorship, and talking circles. It is a place of healing, learning, joy and supportive kinship.

Applicants must be Indigenous women, Two Spirit or nonbinary relatives and must agree to attend a minimum of 75% of the meetings. Class size is limited and unfortunately, we receive more applicants than we can accommodate so we recommend you apply when the application is released.

Applicants will receive a response email from Matriarch on August 1st.

Culture Hub is hosting a Seasonal Bead&Tea tomorrow, July 16th, from 6-8pm! Indigenous women, Two-Spirit and nonbinary relatives are invited to gather for an evening of beading, hot tea, snacks and good conversation. Instruction and supplies to create seasonal beaded earrings will be provided by Sarah Adams (Choctaw). Guests may also bring an art project they’re already working on or simply sit, sip tea, rest and enjoy good conversation.
