Siloam Chapter of DeMolay

While continuing to practice our public speaking by reading from The Leaders Resource Guide, several ideas were discussed for the upcoming months like possible fun activities and a parents appreciation dinner. We then discussed the upcoming state Rush Month plans like the lock-in this coming weekend!

We also got to hear more from Carmelle about her DeMolay Around the World program. She'll be assisted by her new Jr partner in crime, Lizzy!

Before we raided Braums, we made sure to sing happy birthday to Carmelle!

At tonight's meeting we continued reading from The Leaders Resource Guide. We got inspired about their suggested events centered around planning a bowling tournament and alumni hangouts.

Ethan, Oklahoma DeMolay state president, was present and shared about Rush Month plans in October. Be on the lookout for more info about the lock-in, seminars, and more!

And then we practiced the "arch of steel" again which quickly turned into practicing "self defense."

Tonight we continued reading out of The Leaders Guide. We finished up Chapter 1 covering the history of DeMolay and started on Chapter 2 giving us ideas for monthly activities!

One member also present the first part of the oath from memory which has created a friendly competition for the other guys to do the same.

We'll also be collaborating with Excalibur Chapter to present the Arch of Steel Saturday for Yukon Assembly's installation of officers. We began practicing with our "sabers" which quickly turned into a self defense session ⚔️

Siloam spent their Sunday practicing their public speaking by reading from The Leaders Guide and learning life skills like navigating with a paper map and the importance of changing air filters regularly.

We're also looking forward to a full fall schedule!

One of our biggest projects this year was organizing our Dress Sale! The sale included over 175 dresses from three different closets, all generously donated by Siloam Lodge #276’s Masonic family. The collection primarily consisted of dresses from Siloam Assembly’s Rainbow Girls, dating from the early 1970s through the late 2010s, as well as dresses from other generous donors.

We were also fortunate enough to have the help of many of our Masons. Our biggest thank-you goes out to Dad Ray Rudebock and Dad Ryan Rudebock for helping with setup, our Job’s Daughters volunteers, as well as all of the former ladies of Siloam Rainbow and Eastern Star for their generous donations.

We raised over $200 to help cover our boys’ convention expenses. On top of that, we were able to supply multiple Daily Living Center locations throughout Bethany and OKC with dresses for formal events hosted to celebrate and bring joy to their participants and families.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this project such a success!

🏆 Ethan and Kyle both placed in their respective speech competitions while Carmelle received Miss Congeniality during the pageant Saturday night!

⌛️ This weekend was bittersweet with this being Ryan T and Riley's last Summer Convention before aging out of the program while it was Chris's first.
