The Walcourt is a Historical building that was originally built in (1927) By Charles G. Its historical significance can't be overstated due to its location and its period of construction. The Historical "Land Run" of (1889), was the beginning of establishing Oklahoma, as it officially became a state in (1907). The Walcourt's initiative as a whole has sparked interest with the Oklahoma Arts Council

to establish Classen’s North Highland Parked neighborhood into an Arts district. The model will be similar to the Paseo Arts District located at 28th & North Walker to 30th & North Dewey.
