🐾 Meet Tuna Turner🐾
Tuna’s journey to Nexus started when one of our partner rescues pulled her from the euthanasia list at a local shelter. When they realized she needed more extensive medical care, she was transferred to our program so we could help give her the second chance she deserved.
Shortly after her arrival, Tuna was evaluated by one of our partner veterinarians, and we learned that she was suffering from a severe Achilles tendon injury that was unfortunately beyond repair.
To give her the best chance at a pain-free, happy life, Tuna underwent a leg amputation. While losing a limb is never easy, the surgery has already given her a chance at a more comfortable future. The procedure cost approximately $600, and we’re happy to share that Tuna is now recovering and learning that life can still be full of love, comfort, and second chances. ❤️
